Route A โ€” The Canyon Loop (~40 mi loop ยท 4โ€“5 hrs ยท Moderate)

Canyon Loop: Long Canyon โ†’ UT-313 โ†’ Shafer Trail (down) โ†’ Potash Road

  • Long Canyon [Easy]
~11 mi one way ยท 1โ€“1.5 hours
A scenic and easy off-road trail through a narrow, dramatic canyon with towering Wingate sandstone walls on both sides. Located off UT-313, Long Canyon is a hidden gem that many visitors drive right past on their way to Canyonlands. Features the memorable Pucker Pass โ€” a tight pinch point where the canyon walls close in.
  • Shafer Trail & Potash Road [Moderate]
~40 mi loop ยท 4โ€“5 hours
An iconic Moab loop combining the dramatic cliff-carved switchbacks of Shafer Trail with the scenic Colorado River corridor of Potash Road. Shafer's famous switchbacks descend ~1,200 feet from the mesa top on a narrow shelf road with sheer drop-offs โ€” one of the most photographed off-road roads in the world. Potash Road follows the river past ancient petroglyphs, dinosaur tracks, and striking blue evaporation ponds.

Route B โ€” Onion Creek (~23 mi RT ยท 2โ€“4 hrs ยท Easy)

Scenic canyon drive with 20+ water crossings โ€” a mellower alternative.

  • Onion Creek [Easy]
~23 mi round trip ยท 2โ€“4 hours
A scenic canyon drive with 20+ creek crossings, winding through towering red rock walls with views of Fisher Towers and the La Sal Mountains. One of Moab's most photogenic easy trails โ€” and a perfect excuse to use your Cybertruck's Wade Mode. An ideal Route B alternate for Friday: mellower pace, stunning scenery, and a more relaxed start to the weekend.

If we finish early โ€” bonus options

  • Gemini Bridges โ†’ Four Arches Canyon [Easy]
    ~15 mi one-way ยท 2โ€“3 hours
A connected route pairing two of Moab's most photogenic easy-to-moderate trails. Start with Gemini Bridges โ€” a mostly-gravel road leading to the iconic twin natural rock bridges you can walk out onto for jaw-dropping canyon views. From there, push west into Four Arches Canyon, a slickrock drive through a remote side canyon featuring four distinct natural arches and dramatic rock formations. A great bonus run if the main Friday route wraps up early, or a perfect low-commitment option for groups who want something scenic without a full-day drive.
  • Explore Arches National Park
Paved scenic drive through 2,000+ natural sandstone arches. 10 min north of Moab.
Evening

6:30 PM โ€” Dinner at El Tapatio. Drinks at Dewey's Restaurant & Bar.

Saturday ยท April 25, 2026

Three Routes โ€” A/B Swap, Expert Route C, Light Show at Dusk

Breakfast7:00โ€“8:15 AM
Meet8:30 AM
Roll9:00 AM

Three tracks. Routes A and B split and swap AM/PM. Route C is a dedicated expert day at Sand Flats on Fins & Things (armor strongly recommended). All groups reconnect for the Worldwide Tesla Light Show.

Route A (~42 mi RT ยท 4โ€“6 hrs)

  • Hurrah Pass [Easy]
~26 mi round trip ยท 2โ€“3 hours
A scenic ridgeline crossing high above the Colorado River with 360ยฐ panoramic views of the river corridor, Anticline Overlook, and the La Sal Mountains. The first major waypoint on the Chicken Corners route โ€” and a stunning standalone destination.
  • Chicken Corners [Moderate]
~42 mi round trip ยท 4โ€“6 hours
A long scenic drive through Kane Springs Canyon, over Hurrah Pass, and along dramatic cliff-edge shelves above the Colorado River. The trail ends at the aptly named Chicken Corners โ€” a narrow ledge with 500-foot drops and views of Thelma & Louise Point.

Route B (~14 mi loop ยท 2โ€“4 hrs)

  • Buttes and Towers [Moderate]
~14 mi loop ยท 2โ€“4 hours
Loop around Monitor and Merrimac โ€” two massive freestanding buttes rising dramatically from the desert floor. The trail offers close-up views of these imposing formations along with Determination Towers and sweeping views of the Book Cliffs and La Sal Mountains.

Route C ยท Expert (~9.4 mi loop ยท 3โ€“4 hrs) โ€” Fins & Things at Sand Flats

  • Fins & Things [Difficult]
~9.4 mi one-way loop ยท 3โ€“4 hours ยท Armor recommended
A Jeep Badge of Honor trail in the Sand Flats Recreation Area โ€” 10 miles of steep slickrock climbs and even steeper descents across iconic sandstone fins. Big La Sal Mountain views and grippy sandstone reward committed drivers. Same trailhead as Hell's Revenge and a true Moab badge for anyone running it in a Cybertruck.
Evening

5:45 PM โ€” Meet at US-191 scenic pulloff, organize and sync USB sticks. 6:15 PM โ€” Caravan up Buttes & Towers (Courthouse Rock) trail to slick rock pad for Worldwide Tesla Light Show. After: Dinner at the food trucks, drinks at Spoke Bar.

Sunday ยท April 26, 2026

Choose Your Adventure + Grand Finale

Breakfast7:00โ€“8:15 AM
Meet8:30 AM
Roll9:00 AM

Pick your morning adventure by comfort level. Both groups converge at Whitewash Sand Dunes for the afternoon grand finale.

Route A โ€” Easy-Moderate Morning (~4 hrs total)

  • Copper Ridge [Easy]
~4โ€“6 mi round trip ยท 1โ€“2 hours
Drive to the famous Copper Ridge Sauropod Dinosaur Tracksite โ€” one of the most significant and accessible dinosaur track sites in the Moab area. Well-preserved tracks from 150-million-year-old sauropods and theropods with BLM interpretive signs.
  • Willow Springs Road [Easy]
~10โ€“12 mi one way ยท 1โ€“2 hours
A scenic backcountry drive north of Moab through colorful desert terrain and historic uranium mining country. Connects to Copper Ridge dinosaur tracks and offers views toward Arches National Park โ€” a quieter alternative to park roads.
  • Eye of the Whale [Easy]
~18 mi round trip ยท 2โ€“3 hours
A rewarding drive to a striking natural arch formation in the Hatch Point area. The arch dramatically frames the sky and surrounding desert โ€” less crowded than the famous Moab trails and perfect for photography.

Route B โ€” Hard Morning (3โ€“4 hrs)

Terrestrial Armor kit recommended.

  • Hell's Revenge [Difficult]
~6.5 mi ยท 2โ€“5 hours ยท Armor recommended
One of Moab's most iconic and challenging slickrock trails. Steep sandstone fins, tilted rock faces, and the infamous Hell's Gate obstacle. Proven doable in a Cybertruck โ€” but armor is strongly recommended.

Afternoon โ€” Everyone

  • Whitewash Sand Dunes [Moderate]
    11โ€“20 mi ยท 3โ€“4 hours
A 1,400-acre open OHV area featuring sand dunes, red rock formations, and cottonwood-lined washes. Multiple routes wind through sandy terrain, slickrock, and desert washes. Great half-day side trip.
Evening

6:30 PM โ€” Dinner at Thai Bella. Drinks at Hoodoo Hotel Bar.
